Founded in 2018, Portsea Media is a writer-led production company developing original high-quality drama for Film, Television and Streaming Platforms. The Company Directors are both writers with a strong track-record of screenwriting, robust Writer’s Room collaboration and long-form drama development, as well as a history of training and mentorship.

Judith Clucas (joint-CEO / Development Executive) has a diverse skill-set blending screenwriting, idea development and project management, alongside the theoretical study of contemporary media trends and researching trans-media and multiple-platform storytelling. She began her career in theatre and performance poetry before going on to write for award-winning Mersey Television dramas Brookside, Hollyoaks and The Courtroom. She is co-creator of Portsea Media dramas, Blood Type Gold, and The Tall House.

Peter Cox MBE (joint-CEO / Development Executive) is an award-winning writer whose work is highly regarded for its originality and ambition. He began his career at the Royal Court Theatre, London, where he won the prestigious George Devine Award for his play Up To The Sun And Down To The Centre, directed by Danny Boyle. He went on to write for the BBC, ITV and Channel Four, where he wrote 227 episodes of the acclaimed series Brookside, and was a lead member of the Writer’s Room for over eighteen years. He is co-creator of Portsea Media dramas, Blood Type Gold, and The Tall House.

Los Angeles based British Actor/Director Treva Etienne featured in Terminator Salvation, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Bad Boys II, Black Hawk Down and Eyes Wide Shut. His recent work includes Bosch, Black Earth Rising, Supernatural, Falling Skies, Acts of Desperation, Itsy Bitsy and Witch-Hunt. As well as writing two award-winning short films he also wrote, produced and directed two seasons of the BBC’s award-winning comedy sketch show The Real McCoy. In 1999, Treva sat on the UK Film Council Review Group, UK & Cannes and in 2000, deputy chaired the DCMS Diversity in Film Committee supported by the late Lord Richard Attenborough and Sir David Puttnam.

Associate Production Executive, David Hanson, is an award-winning Writer and Senior Producer of broadcast television, specialising in long-form Series and Serial Drama. He is a published author and brings a wealth of experience gained over 35 years of creating and producing content for ITV, BBC, Channel 4 and Sky TV.

Chris Calvary-Lord is an award-winning investigative journalist. Her first novel is due to be published early next year.

Our Research Associate, Ebele Obumselu specialises in African History and Current Affairs. He has a background in data analysis and qualitative research, gained working primarily for the UK government. He was born in Oxford and lived in Nigeria and South Africa before making his home in London. He divides his time between London, Sweden and Lagos.
